I haven’t written a blog post in a while on this site and I wanted to start slowly with a topic that I like personally and of course something that is popular to see how much this affects traffic and SEO so I decided to look at a few stats on the UFC to better understand why it is so popular and I think I got surprised at how big the UFC is even though everyone is saying that it(MMA not UFC) is the fastest growing sport and in the world, and there are groups that would like it to be added to the list of sports that are performed in the Olympics. I know if there was an MMA event in the London Olympics at the moment I woud certainly attend and pay whatever it takes cuz I’m in London at the moment however that is a topic for another day really. Breakfast, Late Night Eating & Fat loss

Breakfast and late night eating bring about a lot of controversy (experts) and confusion (beginners) and there are lots of conflicting studies and experiments out there so its not easy.

If we are going to split it into big groups we will have this:-

A) People who eat, BIG, late at night.
B) People who eat, BIG, earlier in the day.
C) People who have no clue or who do both.

Now the first group believe that their approach is best and that it actually works, for fat loss, and this is what is important and I believe them. The second group also believe that their approach is just as good and that it does help you burn fat and I believe them too. What Is More Important Diet Or Exercise?

This is going to be tough as the issue is complicated and the answer would be really hard to dig up, if there ever was one, it would be really complicated too that’s why not many people will mention this subject/question when they talk about weight loss cuz lets face not many would gain anything from running around in circles and confusing the hell out of people just to sound smart lol.

I’m different though I’m sure you all know that by now really ;)

I’m gonna attempt to tackle material, that not many are willing to tackle, head on just for the sake of it.

No seriously though I would like to help people make better informed decisions about their lives because lets face good intentions will not always get you to where you want, we can’t be ignorant to what really happens inside of our organs and just hope that we will get to what or where we want. I know that no one is capable of finding everything about human physiology and I will be the first to admit that it is complicated really complicated even for me ;)

Anyway lets try to answer this question

I have always favored exercise over diet I never liked dieting and never will but my opinion has changed drastically over the years and I have grown to respect dieting more and more as they years went by… with that being said what most people view as dieting is not really dieting at all the diets that I see people following are nothing short of ridiculous and they can be damaging on many levels even if they help you lose weight really so in this post when I say dieting I’m gonna be referring to what call diet not what other people do because I call that suicide, torture or just plain insanity (please don’t confuse the two)

If I was gonna answer the question I wouldn’t say dieting or exercise is more important than the other of course that doesn’t mean that they are both equals because they aren’t.

Now some of you would wonder if neither exercise or diet is the most important factor in losing weight then what is?

How valuable is exercise in one’s fat loss regimen

Yesterday I was talking with a new client who was desperate to lose wieght, this client is on program that was working reasonably well for here but she was complaingn about the fact the she was spending too much time and effort on exercising and that she doesn’t think she could take it any longer.

After talking to her and asking a few questions about her lifestyle and diet I required some tests for here to do so I could better assess the situation and then gave here my anlysis on the situation as well as my recommendations for diet as well as exercise, and she was happy with the diet even though it wasn’t something that she was used but the exercise program which wasn’t existant really in my recommendations was a total shock for her really.

She couldn’t believe that she could lose weight without exercise now this wasn’t something that I wasn’t used to dealing with or anything like that really and I didn’t have a problem with her attitude towards this but I explained to her that it was indeed possible for the person to  lose weight without exercising as long as they are on the right diet but I didn’t stop there I went on to explain that exercising has many side effects many of which people have no idea of and that exercising does deplete certain nutrients from the body which leaves people who are ignoranat to these facts vulnerable.

Now I’m not against including exercise as part of a weight loss program its just that I like to see how much of an effect dieting alone does to the person and then assess things before adding any exercise that are suitable for the person at that time depending on their goals fitness levels as well emotional and mental health. The Biggest Impediment To Success Is Doing The Right Thing

I know this sounds a bit philosophical and kinda illogical too but hear me out till the end please

Okay lets get back on topic here:-

Have you ever been in a situation when you were constantly/consistently doing what is right and yet found yourself further from your goal?

You do everything right but you end up with the same results and sometimes you end up worse.
I know I have and it’s not a good feeling.

There’s nothing worse than doing something that you believe is going to get you closer to your goal when in reality it is sending you further and further away from your goal.

*If you spend endless hours in the gym every week (spinning, running, aerobics… etc) then you are doing exactly that to yourself

* If you have an under-active thyroid and take your medication everyday and think that it will speed up you thyroid then you are doing exactly that

* If you have Diabetes and cut out all sugars from your diet and think that this alone will get rid of Diabetes then you are doing exactly that

*If you have replaced processed grains with whole grains thinking that you are going to lose fat then you are doing exactly that

*If you are eating tons of tuna and egg-whites thinking that it will get you big without gaining fat then you are doing exactly that

*If you have started running 5k a day in an effort to get faster at football then you are doing exactly that

Remember:

More is not always better sometimes less is really (better than) more.

M.E.F. or the minimum effective dose can do a lot for you but you cannot find out what how much it is if you are not willing to go down a bit to test what works best for you because experimentation is important.
